Tina | Rye Series 5k - Friday 13 August 2010Updated: 15-Aug-2010 18:39 Five club members took part in Friday's Rye Series 5k at the very scenic Rye Harbour. The course is fast and flat as long as the South Westerly's do not blow hard which is usually the case! Unusually, the wind wasn't too much of a problem but heavy showers did fall on those not fortunate to finish at the front. The event always attracts a good quality field and Friday's race was no exception, with several age group records being broken. Sam, lead the club runners home in a fine 5th place, followed by Kylie who was the 2nd placed lady overall. Kylie, together with Faye and myself picked up the ladies team prize by virtue of having the fastest overall time in the race. Grahame also had a good run, improving on his time at Fowlmead two weeks ago.Photos can be found on my site.Tina | The Paul Hill Summer Handicap - Tues 3/8/10Updated: 04-Aug-2010 21:47 The weather was kind to us again this year during our annual Summer Handicap and BBQ.There were some fine runs in conditions that were quite humid. The overall club winner of the event, for the second time was Catherine O'Connor, in a time of 37.02. The fastest runner of the course was David Gillett in a time of 25.13 and unsurprisingly, Rona was the fastest lady in a time of 27.29! A big thank you to Dave Smyth and Alan French for the Handicapping and timekeeping and all that helped to marshal.Another big thank you to Chris Addison, Mark Ellerby,Ian Bull,Donna Ward, Denise Punnett, Pete and Linda Broom, family and friends! and Grahame for their efforts in making the BBQ another great success. The results can now been found on the Documents page.
