East Kent Summer Relay series 2012
This is a series of 5 races is held on alternate Tuesday in the early Summer months. Each race is held at a different location around Kent, hosted by one of the local clubs. Teams of 3 or 4, dependant on age & sex categories, compete in a relay format. The points scored by the A team in each category count towards a cumulative score for the series. The Club's top runners form the A teams, but anybody who wants a run can do so, we'll always field B, C or even D teams if we get the runners.
The races manage to be both fun and keenly competetive. Folkestone usually manage to make the most noise cheering on all our runners. The final event of the series usually finishes with a picnic supper after the prize giving.
Summer Relays, Round 1 - Folkestone (15th May 2012)
Location: Folkestone Seafront
Start time: 19:15
Host: Folkestone Running Club
As in previous years Folkestone will host the opening round of the Relay series. The race is staged on Folkestone seafront and starts at 19:15. We will need to provide marshalls on the course and we'll need several people on the start-finish line for time-keeeping.
The route is 2.6 miles with 48 metre climb overall.
CT20 1PR should get SatNav users there, otherwise head for the old Rotunda/ Sunday market area.

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years, or Year 8, upwards and ability ranging from elite to beginners in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group.
