Folkestone 10 Mile
THE NEXT FOLKESTONE 10 MILE RACE WILL BE HELD ON GOOD FRIDAY 29TH MARCH 2013
EVENT LOCATION
Race HQ will be Hythe Community School, Cinque Ports Avenue, Hythe, CT21 6HS The Start & finish will be on Hythe Green, adjacent to the School.
Venue facilites: Free parking, toilets, snacks and refreshments are available at Race HQ which is one minute walk from the start.
EVENT SUMMARY
A wonderful flat run along the Hythe sea front to Folkestone Harbour. The race starts off with a lap on the Green which makes the race unsuitable for wheel chair users. When weather conditions are right this is a great opportunity for a personal best. Unfortunately, the width restriction on the prom makes the course unsuitable to run with your dog. Marshalls and water stations are plentiful and the route is traffic free.

We look forward to seeing all our regulars again and lots of new faces.
Please keep checking this site for further details on how to enter.

Folkestone 10 Mile 2012 Race Report (6th Apr 2012)
Start time: 11:00
Host: Folkestone Running Club
In recent years the Folkestone 10 Mile Road Race has been run in great weather conditions and this year was no exception. The chilly wind proved to be of little relief to the runners once out on the course with the warm sunshine making it tough going at times.
Despite the heat there were some great times posted, with Cambridge Harriers’ Dean Lacey leading the pack of 584 runners home in a fine time of 51.04, nearly three minutes faster than 2nd placed Sittingbourne Strider, Antony Jackson in a time of 53.53. In 3rd place, Folkestone Running Club’s own Sam Rigby finished strongly in 56.24. Folkestone had more reason to celebrate with Rona Loubser winning the Ladies race with a great performance, overhauling an early lead by Paddock Wood’s Tina Oldershaw and finishing in 59.56, over a minute ahead of Tina, who finished in 1.01.04. Finishing in 3rd place was Annabelle Stearns from Gravesend Road Runners and AC in a time of 1.03.39.
