This weeks News ....

Another busy week for FRC.  This week our very own ultra runner Faith Cowell took part in the 54321 50k!

Greg Playfoot came 24th overall in the Mount Ephraim 10k and 3rd Male V40 with a time of 45:43.  Stephen King also took part in this in a time of 55:52

Jane Wren and Alan Randall ran in the Brett Owlers Half Marathon in starting at the Julie Rose Stadium Ashford and came 32nd and 29th respectively out of a field of 65 runners.  Wren came first in her age category and won the FV50 trophy.  It was a challenging course but very scenic and very well organised. 

Another group of FRC members battled out the first round of the FRC Parkrun Challenge.  Deborah Jeffery, Laura Ballard, Rob Hill, Nick Steele and Ian McGilloway are now through to the next round.

In the parkrun this week Ian McGilloway was 2nd man overall on the Folkestone course with a new PB time of 17:35, next FRC member through the finish funnel was Nick Steele 17:51, Darren Crew 19:56, David Weekes 20:31, Stuart Sprinks 20:43, Rob Hill with a PB time of 20:44, Tim Warren 20:47, Deborah Jeffery 1st lady overall in 21:04, Richard Fowles 21:17, Christopher Woolgar 22:39, Caroline Curtis 23:01, David Rodacan 24:15, Kirsty Wilson 24:18, Richard Dyer 24:38, Alan Randall 24:54, Carolyn Lewis 25:10, Jane Wren 25:12, Gary Brazier in a new PB time of 25:13, Aldous Hosking 25:16, Malcolm Gibbs 25:52, Angela Warren 25:54, Stephen King 26:14, Philip Maull 26:19, Neil Adams 27:36, Nikki Goodwin 28:22, Julie Gibbs 28:33, Paul James 31:14, Catherine-Anne Curtis 33:22

Further afield Eleanor Priestley ran at Chippenham parkrun in 25:49,  Stuart Erskine ran at Keswick parkrun in 20:28   At Exeter parkrun David Gillett 17:36 and Kirsty Gardiner 27:43 and in Crissy Field parkrun, USA Lloyd Worsley came first overall in a time of 17:11

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
