Mud, Hills, Cross Country and Park Run

The third race in the Kent Cross Country League was this Saturday at Footscray Meadow Bexley – hosted by the Cambridge Harriers AC.  This week the Senior & Vet Women and Men Vets 70+ didn’t take part.

Boys Under 13 – Zak Doust 21st, Joe Bruce 25th, Callum Hickman 41st

Girls Under 13 – Olivia Young 28th, Catrina Macarthur 40th, Emily Mackenzie 50th

Men  Under 17 - Morgan West 30th

Women Under 17 – Emily Chambers 11th

Senior Men – Andrew Fletcher 41st, Philip Hoyland 42nd, Ian Mc Gilloway 70th, David Weekes 100th, Tristan Bruce 126th, Darren Crew 134th, Stuart Spinks 150th, Paul Bartlett 184th, Simon Coffey 185th, David Smyth 194th, Richard Fowles 207th, Chris Woolgar 210th, Aldous Hosking 221st , Anthony Scott 224th, Barry Hogben 238th, Graham Eke 250th, Stephen King 256th, Alan Randall 257th

The team results to date after this weeks race are:   Boys Under 13 – 9th Team overall.  Girls Under 13 – 11th overall (3 to score)  Senior Men – 7th Team so far (4 to score) Senior Men – 9th Team so far (12 to score)

Malcolm and Julie Gibbs ran the very hilly, muddy and challenging Coalville 10k trail race on Sunday in the respective times of 1:03:22 and 1:05:21  The race takes place on the trails, footpaths and roads within Snibston Country Park, near Coalville, Leicestershire.

At  Folkestone Park Run this week Chris Addison was first FRC member through the finish funnel in a time of 20:40 followed by Richard Fowles 21:14, Stuart Erskine 22:09, Kirsty Wilson with a new PB time of 23:35, Vicky Scott 24:01, Deirdre Coombs 24:03, John O’Hara 24:43. Neil Adams 26:35, Margaret Whitham in a new PB time of 28:07, Trudi Curd 28:08, Paul James with a new PB time of 31:34, Sophia Stroud 31:52, and Elizabeth Smith 34:16

Trudi Curd is now through to the quarter finals of the FRC Parkrun Cup Challenge after narrowly beating Margaret Whitham this Saturday.

At Pollo Parkrun in Glasgow Clive Allon ran the 5k course in a time of 24:04

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years (or Year 8), upwards and ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

*Please note we are unable to take on any new junior members (13+) until Spring 2018 as we have reached full capacity. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
