This weeks news ....

It was very quiet week for the FRC.

On Sunday twenty two club members took part in a challenging but sociable off road run in memory of Paul Hill. Paul was a popular member of the club who was tragically killed in a car accident fourteen years ago. The route was a one regularly run by Paul and other friends including Dave Denyer and there is a favourite story that they have about Paul regarding a stile on the route. The story which was recounted by Dave related to Paul showing off to his running friends and getting his comeuppance at the stile after leaping over it and ending up in a heap on the ground. His fellow runners just walked through the gate! The spot is now commemorated with a stone memorial made by one of Paul’s friends. It is appropriately engraved ‘Paul’s Stile’. Paul’s son Rob joined us on the run and enjoyed himself so much he may decide to come and join the club! Paul’s wife Chris provided lovely post run cakes and hot drinks.  It is hoped to resume holding the run as a regular annual event.

In the parkrun this week first FRC member Phil Hoyland came 2nd man overall in a time of 17:30, followed by Stephen O’Brien 3rd man overall in 18:31, Jean Paul Jeffery 18:55, Stuart Erskine 20:04, Tracy Wilkinson Begg 1st lady overall in 20:36, Simon Coffey 20:57, Stuart Sprinks 21:18, David Gillett 21:29, Paul Bartlett 21:30, Tim Warren 21:34, Anthony Scott 22:03, Caroline Curtis 3rd lady overall in 22:26, Levi Atwell 22:59, Christopher Woolgar 23:18, Kirsty Wilson 24:14, Clive Allon 24:44, Malcolm Gibbs 25:57, Gary Brazier 26:13, Alan Vigrass 26:14, Linda Robson with a new PB time of 26:38, Philip Maull 26:54, Carolyn Lewis 27:24, Andrew Fletcher 28:12, Julie Gibbs 28:17, Angela Saunders 28:20, Leah Atwell 29:24, Kirsty Gardiner 29:42, Sue Elkins 30:51, Pamela Allon 30:53, Kate Lancefield 31:59, Nicola James 38:40, Paul James 38:42
