Race to the Stones, Romney Marsh 10, Sevenoaks 7, Relays and Park Run

Faith Cowell ran the Race to the Stones ultramarathon.  100km in total with an overnight stop. The route passes up and along the high ground South West from Lewknor in Oxfordshire to the Thames Crossing at Goring.  From this point the route rises up onto the North Wessex Downs passing golden fields before the iconic finish between the towering stones of Avebury.  She completed the 2 days in 12 hours 32 minutes and 51 seconds and was 27th finisher out of 617 competitors, 9th female out of 364 and 2nd WV50 out of 105!!

Several members of FRC ran in the 9th Romney Marsh 10k.  Looking at the results it appears the men were actually first Team over the line (Jessen, Erskine and Hill) and should have won the trophy but two hadn’t been registered as FRC, although they had actually entered online for the club.   Torben Jessen was first MV55 in a time of 39:47, followed by Stuart Erskine 42:16, Rob Hill 43:54, Vicky Scott 53:26, who also won the First Senior Female Trophy, Alan Randall 54:19, Jenny Quinn 54:50, Damien Sprigg 59:24, Hayley Klucsynski 1:00:39 and Kelly Flannery 1:03:11

Anthony Scott took part in the Sevenoaks Seven this week.

In second place were the V40 Men A, Men V40 B, V50 Men A, V50 Men B, V55 Ladies A and in 5th place the V35 Ladies A Team.

We also had some great overall individual performances with Nikki Goodwin 2nd, Emily Chambers 6th, Deborah Jeffery 9th, Caroline Curtis 10th and Zoe Neale 12th.  For the men Lloyd Worsley 3rd, Steve O’Brien 7th, Morgan West 8th, James Stroud 13th and Stephen Male 15th.
