Tracy Wilkinson Begg qualifies for the World Duathlon Championship!! ..... and more!


Tracy Wilkinson Begg raced in the Anglian Water Standard Distance Duathlon (10k run 39:14 /40k bike 1:15:35 / 5k run 23:31) coming second in her age category and qualifying for the World Duathlon Championship in Denmark, July 2018 and also qualifying for the Europeans in Spain 2019.

Tenterden 5 Miler on Sunday Zoe Neale came 9th Lady and 1st FV40 in a time of 35:45

In the Dymchurch 10k this Sunday Clive Allon was the first FRC runner across the finish line in 45:39, followed by Pamela Allon 56:15, Hayley Kluczynski 58:23 and Russell France 58:57

Anthony Scott took part in the Tunbridge Wells half marathon.

Folkestone Park Run this week Jean Paul Jeffrey was first man through the finish funnel, with a new PB as well, for FRC in a time of 18:44, followed by Phil Hoyland 19:10, Stuart Erskine 19:36,  Chris Addison 20:34, Levi Atwell 21:07, Christopher Woolgar 21:54, David Gillett 23:53, John O’Hara with a new PB time of 24:29, Alan Randall 24:33, Deirdre Coombs 24:41, Malcolm Gibbs 24:49, Neil Adams 24:58, Richard Dyer 25:17, Carolyn Lewis in a new PB time of 25:44, Alan Vigrass 25:45, Angela Saunders 27:23, Kirsty Gardiner 28:01, Julie Gibbs 28:03, Linda Robson 28:37, Leah Atwell 29:00, Margaret Whitham 30:13, Jane Wren with Georgie Grey 31:34, Nicola James in a new PB time of 36:19 and Stephen King 49:53

Parkrun Tourism this week – Caroline Curtis ran at Ashford parkrun – First Lady in a time of 21:35, Andrew Noble ran at Braunstone parkrun in a time of 19:22.  At Whitstable park run Vicky Scott ran the 5k course in 24:45 and at Chelmsford Darren Crew and Jodie Stoakes ran the course in 20:47 and 26:15 respectively.

The FRC Parkrun challenge semi-finals have been drawn – Clive Allon is to run against Tina Eke, and Andrew Noble is challenging Zoe Neale.  This is going to be close!!!

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years (or Year 8), upwards and ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

*Please note we are unable to take on any new junior members (13+) until Spring 2018 as we have reached full capacity. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
