The Canterbury Riverside 10k, Hastings Half and a chilly parkrun

Despite the cold and a lot of races being cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions a couple of hardy FRC members braved the snow and wind to take part in the Canterbury Riverside 10k on Sunday.  Kirsty Wilson completed the course in 49:14 and Vicky Scott in a time of 50:22

In Hastings, Chris Addison ran the very hilly 34th Hastings Half Marathon, finishing along the windy coast line from the old town to St Leonards, in a time of 1:31:00

A lot of the parkruns were cancelled around the UK this weekend but Folkestone went ahead despite the wind chill of -8 degrees Celsius, 45 mph gusts on The Leas and blizzard like conditions on the 5k course.

Nick Steele was the first FRC member through the finish funnel in a time of 20:46 followed by First Lady Overall – Deborah Jeffery in a time of 21:34, Simon Coffey 21:35, Stuart Erskine 22:13, Lloyd Worsley 23:47, Clive Allon 24:22, Vicky Scott 24:57, Deirdre Coombs 25:27, Malcolm Gibbs 25:47, Gary Brazier 27:54, Paul James 35:56 and Nicola James 37:20
