Despite the distance, Folkestone were still represented by good numbers in the National X Country Championships in Nottingham at the weekend.  It was great that four of our juniors also made the long trip to the East Midlands.  Leanne Yore was our sole female junior representative as she ran in the under 17's finishing with a time of 30.10 in 211th position.  Brandon Law had a great run in the under 15 boys race as he was 299th in a time of 18.13.  In the under 13 boys race Christian Watts was 345th in a time of 14.45 and was followed by James Long who was 369th in 15.48.

The ladies had six representatives and finished 68th overall in the top four scoring competition.  Zoe Neale led the way as she was 335th in 37.44.  Catherine O'Connor was 479th in 41.13, just ahead of Caroline Curtis who was 558th in 43.28.  Catriona Watts was next in 589th position with a time of 44.45 and she was followed home by Emma Long who was 631st in 46.49 and Tina Eke who was 662nd in 49.08.

For the men, Dave Weekes continued his running comeback after injury with a time of 52.06.  Stephen King got around the course in 58.39 and Grahame Eke in 63.37.

Elswehere Mick James ran the Headcorn Half Marathon over the weekend in a time of 1.39.47 and there was also many park runners at Ashford.  Steve O'Brien was 3rd in a time of 17.34, Darren Crew was 17th in 21.30 on his park run debut, just seconds ahead of Brian Davis who was 18th in 21.33.  Libby Turbutt (26.54) was just ahead of her dad Jon (27.00), whilst Louise Fowler finished in 32.12 in her first park run.
