Broadlands Half and Parkruns

It was a quiet weekend on the racing front (unless you know different?!) with Mick James being our sole race runner on Sunday in the Broadlands Half Marathon.  Mick finished 86th overall and 17th in his age catergory as he got around the 13.1 miles in a time of 1.41.50.

There were however, a few parkruns that took place on Saturday morning where we were well represented.  In Pegwell Bay it was a real battle at the front as Steve O'Brien and David Gillett battled it out for 1st and 2nd position with times of 16.53 and 16.54 respectively.  It was David's first race on that course, but Steve got a PB.  In Ashford, Brian Davis was 10th as he secured a PB himself with a time of 21.00 and being the first home in his age catergory.  James Long also got a PB as he completed the course in 24.56, whilst Trudi Curd made it a PB trio as she got home in 26.31.

At the University of Kent, it was the first Canterbury run and to mark the occassion we sent parkrun legend Andy Noble along to run his 20th different parkrun!  Andy had to run through the pain as he struggles to return from his knee injury, but that didn't stop him ensuring he was a place ahead of Caroline Curtis as he got home in 24.47, nine seconds ahead of Caroline (24.56).  Yvonne White also ran her best parkrun to date as she got around the new course in a time of 34.53.

If anyone else ran this weekend, please let me know! (
