Ashford Summer 5k Series by Chris Woolgar

It was a fine warm  evening for the first round of the Ashford Summer 5K series organised by Nice Work. On the 70th anniversary of D Day it was appropriate that  the Folkestone Running Club male competitors were all veterans, accompanied by one senior lady.

Brian Davis continued his impressive form with a 5th position in 20m33s,  while Chris Woolgar got a SB time of 21m04s in 6th place. Next was Mick James in 8th in 21m19s followed by Barry Hogben in 11th place in 21m59s. Jennifer Quinn finished her two laps of Victoria Park in 20th position in 25m59s.
Barry won the Male Vet.50 prize, Chris got the Male Vet.55 win, and Brian naturally took the Male Vet.60 prize.  Brian, Chris and Mick also
took the Male Team Prize for Folkestone R. C..

So, wine bottles clinking, the tired but happy Folkestone runners departed.
