Bewl 15, Romney Marsh 10k and Other Race News

It was another busy weekend for our runners with a number events taking place.  The tougher runners took on the Bewl 15 with Andy Noble first of them home in a time of 1.51.28 in 101st position.  Deborah Jeffery was 211th as she ran 2.00.33, whilst Chris Woolgar was 289th as it took him 2.07.30.  Caroline Curtis was 309th in 2.10.16 and also  won the silver medal in her age category (V45) of the British Masters.

Closer to home, eleven runners ran the Romney Marsh 10k.  David Gillett was 6th overall as he ran a time of 36.40.  Tim Warren secured a PB as he was 19th in 38.54, whilst there was a close tussle between Darren Crew (44.08) and Clive Allon (44.28) who ran a seasons best time.  Lesley Delea was 61st overall and along with Kirsty Gardiner and Jody Stoakes earned a PB and all were part of the winning ladies team.  Lesley ran 47.43, Kirsty 49.27 and Jody 49.28.  Jo Peers also ran a PB as she got around in 51.50, ahead of Nick Farrer (52.17) and Angela Saunders (53.28).  Yvonne White was our final runner home in 1.14.16.

In Canterbury, Brandon Law took part in another triathalon and again won his age group, as well as being just outside the top 20 places overall.  In a final time of 1.11.20, Brandon swam 400 metres in 7.18, rode 20k on the bike in 39.51 and then ran the final 5k in 22.27.  Another fantastic effort.  There were also some parkrunners this weekend.  Mick James ran the Ashford event in 21.22, Dave Weekes ran the Hilly Fields parkrun in a time of 21.02, whilst Andy and Caroline had a go at the Riddlesdown parkrun and ran 20.12 and 23.48 respectively.
