Races this weekend

It was a pretty hectic weekend for our Folkestone runners as many wore the vest in Kent at the weekend and slightly further afield.  At the Les Golding Dartford 10 miler, Andy Noble ran a massive PB time of 1.08.13 as he raced just a fortnight after his marathon.  Caroline Curtis completed the ten miles in 1.23.20.  In Faversham Darren Crew also ran a PB as he got around the course in 43.16, whist Jody Stoakes ran 49.55 and Jenny Quinn ran 55.18.

At the Kent Relay Champs in Canterbury, many of our youngsters represented our club.  In the under 13 Girls 4 x 100 metres our team of Caitlin Gallagher, Chloe Birtwistle, Olivia Bell and Katie Lacey finished 3rd in 59.0.  Our second team of Lucy Cullen, Chartelle Duncan, Sophie McDonnell and Sophie Brown were 5th as they ran 62.3.  In the Under 13 Girls 3 x 800 Final our team of Katie Lacey, Lucy Bartlett and Lucy Cullen finished 3rd in a time of 8.41.4.  In the Under 13 Boys's we finished 7th as Christian Watts, Ben Jeffery and James Long ran a total time of 8.21.4.

There were also many parkrunners this weekend too.  In Folkestone David Gillett was first across the line again as he ran 18.21, ahead of Dave Weekes who was 4th home and ran a PB time of 19.27.  Deborah Jeffery was first lady again also as she ran 21.18 ahead of her son Ben who beat his previous time by running 22.46.  Darren Crew cruised around in 23.25, whilst Hannah Weeks ean 23.42 and Jody Stoakes 23.47.  David Walbrook ran 24.01, whilst the Greens of Harry and Hazel both got PB times of 24.27 and 24.45 respectively.  Catriona Watts also ran her best time yet of 24.49, whilst Trudi Curd ran 28.10.

At Ashford the two Steve's of O'Brien and King represented the club with OB finishing 1st in 17.47 and SK runnning 22.23.  At Dulwich Nobby ran his fastest parkrun yet as he completed the course in 19.07, whilst Kylie Hassall was first lady back in Woking as she ran 21.28.

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
