Weekend Race Roundup

Another quiet week for road racing this weekend with Ian, Stuart Erskine and Greg the only club members running today. Ian had a fantastic run in the Kent Coastal Half Marathon finishing in 3rd place overall and 1st Vet 40 in a time of 1.20.42. Stuart completed a very warm Maidenhead Half Marathon in a great time of 1.38 and Greg ran well in the challenging Battle 10k finishing in a time of 44.39.
On Saturday there was a bumper turn out of club runners for the Parkrun with 37 taking part. It was the penultimate fixture of the first round of the Parkrun cup with Darren progressing to round two in a fantastic PB time of 19.11(103.4) against Chris Addison 21.24 (96.3) and finished in 7th place overall. Kirsty Gardner 26.34 (101.8) won her heat against Andrew Smith 27.01 (95.1) as did Lisa 32.18 (107.8) against Kirsty Wilson 23.14 (99.6). Steve King 25.00 (103.9), Caroline 21.52 (99.2), Phil Maull 25.55 (101.5) and Chris Woolgar 22.23(100.1) were completing their second round fixtures with Steve and Phil the victors in these heats. Dan Voller finished the Parkrun in 3rd place overall in a time of 18.12 with Joe Bruce in 9th place just outside of his PB in a time of 19.23. Emma Creasey was the 2nd lady home in a PB time of 20.09 followed by Deb in 3rd place in 20.26. The remaining times were Rob 21.31, David Rodacan 22.48 (PB), Levi 23.10, Tony 23.43, Nikki 24.32, Vicky 24.43, Aldous 24.59, Stuart Erskine 25.02, Richard Dyer 25.49, a welcome return to running by Jon 25.53 completing his first Folkestone Parkrun, Richard Fowles 26.12, Linda Robson 26.15 (PB),Liam 26.19, Clive 26.33, Claire 28.50, Julie 29.28, Malc 29.28, Leah 31.38, Paul James 32.07, Catherine-Anne Curtis 34.45, Kayleigh 34.52, Kate 36.37 and Nicola 38.01.

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
