Mud, Half Marathon, 10k's, muddy dogs and parkrun

Julie and Malcolm Gibbs ran the 10k at Bedgebury Pinetum this weekend with Malcolm finishing first in his MV65 age category, beautiful setting for a tough, muddy 6.2 miles.

Anthony Scott also ran at Bedgebury completing his 14th half marathon of the year.

Richard Dyer smashed his PB at the Conwy Half Marathon on Sunday in a time of 1:49:35

Alan Randall (29:02) and Jane Wren (28:33) ran 5k with their dogs (Cider and George Grey)  in the Canicross at Bedgebury on Saturday.   Obviously making it muddy for the runners on Sunday!

It was a good weekend for the juniors too – The Under 11’s team won 1st overall, Under 13’s boys team 1st overall with 2 of the boys coming 1st and 2nd, Under 15’s boys team 1st overall and Gene 1st overall in the category, Under 15’s girls team 1st overall with Caitlin 3rd girl overall in the category.

I forgot to mention last week that Emma Long and Tracy Wilkinson Begg ran in the Goathland Trail half marathon, near Whitby with Sonny and Gus the dogs. The scenery looked beautiful but very hilly!  What better way to celebrate your birthday!

Park run this week Phil Hoyland was first FRC member and 1st male overall through the finish funnel at Folkestone in a time of 17:13 followed by Jean Paul Jeffery (19:08), Stuart Erskine (20:45), Anthony Scott (21:26), Vicky Scott in a new PB time (23:23), Andrew Richardson (25:08), Aldous Hosking (25:11), Alan Vigrass (26:07), Kirsty Gardiner (27:09), Carolyn Lewis (27:28), Elizbeth Tew (28:42), Margaret Whitham (29:08), Paul James (33:43), Lisa Smith (36:29), Kate Lancefield (36:46), Nicola James (37:46) and Karen Puttock (45:16)

Parkrun tourism this week – Richard Dyer ran at the Hanley Parkrun in a time of 26:08 and Caroline Curtis ran at Victoria Park, Ashford and came 3rd lady overall in a time of 22:07
