This weeks News ....

It’s been a hot eventful weekend, starting with Friday night and the 2nd in the Ashford Podplus 5k and 10k Summer Series. 

 Jennifer Quinn came second lady overall in the 5k (two laps around the park) with a time of  24:22

Alan Randall completed the 4 lap 10k course in a time of 50:45 and Jane Wren won the First V45 Ladies Prize in a time of 55:27

The Dymchurch Golden Mile and 5k took place along the coast in Dymchurch on Sunday - Clive Allon was first FRC member over the Finish Line in a time of 22:28, followed by Alan Randall 24:47, Jennifer Quinn 25:12 and Jane Wren 27:23

4 FRC members took part in the North Down Run on Sunday.   James Stroud was the youngest runner in the race and completed the course in 2:12:17.   Nick Steele was the next FRC member in 2:26:00 followed by Caroline Curtis  2:54:03 and Anthony Scott 3:26:34

Simon Coffey took part in a very muddy obstacle run, the 8.5 mile World War Run OCR.

7 members travelled to Tooting Bec Athletics Track to take part in the Southern Athletics League - Ian McGilloway, Caroline Curtis, Catherine O’Connor, Tina Eke, Kirsty Wilson, Richard Fowles all took part in various events along with adjudicator Grahame Eke.

In the Folkestone parkrun this week Stuart Sprinks was first FRC member through the finish funnel in a PB time of 19:24, followed by Stuart Erskine 20:13, Chris Addison 21:11, Anthony Scott 22:22, Gail Turbutt 24:30, Clive Allon 24:33, Vicky Scott 24:59, John O’Hara 25:13, Carolyn Lewis 25:15, Richard Dyer 26:16, Linda Robson 28:03, Jacob Worsley with a new PB 28:58, Diane Parsons in a new PB time 29:24, Debra Moran 31:06, Alfie Lancefield 37:34 and Kate Lancefield 37:48

Caroline Curtis came 2nd Lady overall at the Dartford parkrun in 22:44

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
