BMAF Medals at the North Downs 30k, 20k's, 10k's, 5k's and Park Runs

FRC member Andrew Noble was awarded a silver British Masters Athletic Federation medal this week.  Noble took part in the challenging multi-terrain North Downs Run this weekend.    The race is approximately 30k and uses the established tracks and lanes over the scenic Downs.  Noble came 30th overall (3rd M50) in a time of 2:22:10

Simon Coffey and Nick Steele both ran in the Sandwich 10k on Sunday.    Steele came 7th overall completing the course in a time of 37:31 and Coffey in 32nd place (41:40)

Anthony Scott took part in the Round Sheffield Run along with team mate Jonny Wells from Ashford & District RC.   This race is unique as it is run in 11 timed stages over 24.5km of trails and parkland across Sheffield.  Between each stage the competitors have the chance to rest, relax and regroup before starting the next stage.  Every stage is recorded and broken down into times.  Scott and Wells completed the course in an elapsed time of 2:38:03

The 2nd Port Lympne 5k and 10k Challenge took place this weekend.  The run takes in the park itself before it opens to the public and all funds raised went to The Aspinall Foundation.  Several FRC members took part but full results were not available.  New FRC member Hayley Kluczynski took part in the Port Lympne 5k on Saturday and then went on to complete the Olympic Park 10k in a PB time of 1:03:12

At Folkestone Parkrun this week Jean Paul Jeffery was the first FRC member through the finish funnel in a personal best time of 18:47 followed by Tim Warren (18:53), Darren Crew with a pb time of 19:21, David Weekes (20:04), First lady overall Deborah Jeffery in a time of 20:11, Chris Addison (23:02), Aldous Hosking (24:04), Paul Taylor (24:19), Richard Dyer (25:06), Angela Saunders (26:00), Jody Stoakes (26:01), Trudi Curd with a new pb time of 26:29, Philip Maull (26:30), Julie Gibbs (28:04), Malcolm Gibbs (28:04), Carolyn Lewis (28:44), Anna Hegarty (29:10), Russell France in a new pb of 30:26 and Louise Fowler (31:05)

At Panshanger Parkrun in Hertfordshire Anthony Scott ran a time of 24:58 

Stephen King ran the 5km course at Brabrand Parkrun in 27:34

Jane Wren came 2nd Lady at Canterbury parkrun in 25:51, a personal best time on that course.

Caroline Curtis came 2nd Lady at Ashford parkrun in 22:01 followed by Alan Vigrass (24:31) and Vicky Scott (26:03)

Furthest afield was Clive Allon at Pollok parkrun in Glasgow in a time of 25:43

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years (or Year 8), upwards and ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

*Please note we are unable to take on any new junior members (13+) until Spring 2018 as we have reached full capacity. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
