Podium finishes, Cross Country, Trails and Devilishly good fun.

Phil Hoyland took 1st place on the podium in the Brett Owler Half Marathon, Ashford at the weekend in a fantastic time of 1:20:11.    Philip Maull also took part in the 1 one lap multi-terrain run, set in the great surroundings of Conningbrook Lake while taking in the quiet roads of Hinxhill.

The second race in the Winter Handicap race on took place on Tuesday and fastest lady was Tracy Wilkinson-Begg  in a time 29:50 and fastest man Stuart Sprinks in 29:46  Kate Bullard was first female to finish and Stuart Sprinks first man.  It’s great to see so many FRC members turning out to run and marshal in the colder weather and get together for the meal and a chat at Three Hills afterwards.

It was the Kent League Cross Country on Saturday at Danson Park, Bexley for Juniors and Senior Vet Women only.  There were some absolutely stunning results with Emily Chambers and Tracy Wilkinson-Begg finishing in the top 10 of their respective races.  Chambers was 6th and Wilkinson-Begg  7th.  Morgan West finished 18th place in his race.

FRC are currently 10th place (3 to score) and 9th place (6 to score) in the Senior Ladies Team League Table with one race remaining.

Final rankings for the Juniors are Under 13 Boys 9th place and Under 13 Girls 11th place.

There was  a great turn-out for FRC in the 666, Kings Wood, Challock with over 18 members taking part in the 6.66 mile off road trail run through the woods.  All devilishly good fun!!

Park run this week at Folkestone Stuart Sprinks was first FRC member through the finish funnel in a personal best time of 19:51, followed by Anthony Scott (21:47), Paul Bartlett (22:02), Lloyd Worsley (22:03), David Weekes (22:05), Andrew Richardson (23:29), Stephen King (24:27), John O’Hara in a new PB time (24:32), Richard Dyer (24:47), Alan Vigrass (25:04), Brian Davis (25:09), Alan Randall (25:12), Neil Adams (25:55), Carolyn Lewis (27:20), Anna Hegarty (28:42), Paul James (31:48), Alfie Lancefield (49:30), Kate Lancefield and Emily Lancefield (49:33)

Vicky Scott ran a time of 23:31 in the Krakow Parkrun in Poland.

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years (or Year 8), upwards and ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

*Please note we are unable to take on any new junior members (13+) until Spring 2018 as we have reached full capacity. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
