A quiet week for FRC ...

It’s been a quiet week for the Folkestone Running Club.

On Wednesday FRC Junior Morgan West raced at the Watford track Open Meet in the 3000m in a time of 9:47

On Friday night Andrew Noble and Caroline Curtis took part in the Stragglers Wedding Day 7k  - Curtis ran the 7k course in Bushy Park in 30:17 and Noble in 26:47  The Race first took place on Thursday 29th July 1981, which was a Bank Holiday marking the wedding day of Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales.  The Stragglers took this over from the London Road Runners. 

Catherine O'Connor took on the 3 peaks challenge but we are still waiting to hear from her!!  I hope she's back for next week's report!

The Parkrun competition is still going strong between the FRC members, although there were a lot of injuries this weekend so some were postponed.  It’s good to see everyone taking it so seriously and wanting to be at their best!! The second round will be starting in a couple of weeks which will really heat things up again!

At Folkestone this week James Stroud was first FRC over the finish line and 2nd Male overall in a time of 17:56, followed by Lloyd Worsley – 3rd Male overall (18:10), Torben Jessen in a new pb time of 18:54, Simon Coffey (19:55), 1st Lady overall – Deborah Jeffery (20:00), Paul Bartlett (21:43), Joe Bruce (21:45), Barry Hogben (22:34), Brian Davis (23:03), Finlay Taylor (23:36), Paul Taylor (23:52), Clive Allon (24:09), Stuart Sprinks (24:17), Deirdre Coombs (24:33), Malcolm Gibbs (25:38), Angela Saunders (25:55), Graham Eke (26:06), Anna Hegarty in a pb time of 26:07, Richard Dyer (26;54), Jenny Whitehead (27:22), Elizabeth Tew in a PB time of 27:26, Julie Gibbs (27:36), Carolyn Lewis (27:45), Penny Southern (28:07), Louise Fowler New PB (28:15),  Debra Moran New PB (28:57), Pamela Allon (29:11), Tina Eke new PB time (29:24), Russell France (29:25), Carol Gonsalves (31:06), Shelley Godden-Duske (31:29), Joanne Miller New PB (33:46), Kate Lancefield (34:09), Sophia Stroud (34:41) and Jean Paul Jeffery (46:21)

Parkrun Tourism this weekAshford Parkrun – Andrew Fletcher came 2nd man overall in a time of (17:00)  In Milton Keynes Paul James ran the 5k parkrun course in 34:50   At Upton Court Andrew Noble came 3rd man overall in a time of 19:11 and Caroline Curtis came 3rd lady overall in a time of 22:31

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
