Caroline Curtis ran the Hannah Pilsen trail event in the Czech Republic – ‘12 miles of crazy climbs’ – and came first lady overall in a time of 1:47:10!!

Jennifer Quinn ran ‘The Hurt’ on Saturday, where they had added a lot more ‘savage’ hills to the course this year,  in a time of 1:21:26   Then on Sunday Quinn ran the Medway 10k in a time of 54:22

Anthony Scott completed 26 miles in the Saxons Vikings and Normans Dambuster Challenge this weekend.

It was the second leg of the East Kent Summer Relays held in Minnis Bay this week.  FRC team results for this leg were – Senior Men A Team 2nd, B Team 1st, C Team 8th.  MV40 A Team 1st, B Team 2nd. MV50 A Team 1st, B Team 3rd. MV60 A Team 2nd.   Senior Ladies A Team 1st, B Team 1st.  WV35 A Team 3rd, B Team 1st.  WV45 A Team 1st, WV55 A Team 2nd.

The standings now after the first two legs are –

Senior Mens A Team 2nd, Senior Ladies A Team 1st, MV40 A Team 2nd, WV35 A Team 6th, MV50 A Team 3rd, WV45 A Team 1st, MV60 A Team 4th, WV55 A Team 2nd.

Senior Mens B Team 1st, Senior Ladies B Team 1st, MV40 B Team 1st, WV35 B Team 3rd, MV50 B Team 2nd

The Senior Mens C Team is 8th and the Senior Mens D Team is 9th.

At Folkestone Parkrun this week Ian McGilloway was 2nd man overall and first FRC member through the finish funnel, followed by Stephen John Male who broke the VM50 course record in a PB time of 17:57, Dominic Woolford 18:00, David Gillett 18:45, Nick Steele 19:31, Tim Warren 19:38, Deborah Jeffery, 2nd Lady overall, 20:56, Stuart Erskine 21:23, Richard Fowles 21:47, Karen Puttock, 3rd Lady overall, in 21:51, Anthony Scott 22:08, Andrew Richardson 23:19, John O’Hara in a PB time of 23:59, Alan Randall 24:16, Carolyn Lewis in a new PB of 25:01, Jane Wren 25:15, Richard Dyer 25:36, Malcolm Gibbs 25:42, Kirsty Gardiner 27:04, Philip Maull 29:03, Paul James in a PB time of 30:48, Nicola James 38:00, Alfie Lancefield 39:38 and Kate Lancefield 39:45.

Parkrun Tourism this week : Ashford – Torben Jessen 19:22, Canterbury – James Stroud came First Overall in a time of 18:46, Vicky Scott 25:57, Upton Court – Linda Robson 26:03 and at Lydney Parkrun David Weekes came 1st man overall in a time of 18:49 and Zoe Neale came 1st Lady overall in a time of 22:24

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
