A successful weekend for FRC

It was a very cold Girlings Solicitors Ashford &  District 10k this weekend. Nevertheless, despite the freezing conditions, the Ladies picked up an armful of trophies with Emily Chambers coming 1st Lady overall followed by Tracy Wilkinson- Begg 2nd Lady Overall, First in the Female V50 age category and Nikki Goodwin came in 3rd Lady Overall.   Needless to say the Ladies won the Team Prize too!!  Fantastic running!!

First FRC man over the finish line was Andrew Fletcher 35:02, followed by Emily Chambers 40:03, Tracy Wilkinson-Begg 40:41, Nikki Goodwin 41:37, Anthony Scott 44:25, Richard Fowles 44:40, Christopher Woolgar 45:16, Danielle Ingleston 47:05, Vicky Scott 49:23, Kirsty Wilson 49:54, Alan Randall 51:32, Jane Wren 51:37, Malcolm Gibbs 54:17, Laura Segust 55:51, Julie Gibbs 56:13, Claire Yates 58:46, Hayley Kluczynski 59:49, Russell France 1:01:14, Lisa Smith 01:03:19, Kate Lancefield 01:07:30 

We had another winner in the Bedgebury Forest 10 Mile with James Stroud winning the race overall in 1:01:14    Well done James!!

Andrew Noble took to the frozen hills in the Titterstone Clee Fell Race in Shropshire. Noble came 10th place (27:38) in the Category A Race with a 200m plus climb over the 4.1k distance to the summit and back.

Morgan West qualified to represent the Kents Schools team when he came 9th place at the  Kent schools XC Championships. This Saturday in Newbury at the South-East schools inter counties race he came 35th out of 80 in the 7.2km XC race in a time of 25:53 and was the 6th Kent runner back.

In the FRC Parkrun Challenge Quarter Finals this week Zoe Neale (100.9%) earnt herself a place in the Semi Finals against Russell France (98.5%) and Tina Eke (101.8%)  also goes through to the semi finals after beating Trudi Curd (99.6%)   We have one more pair to compete next week – Andrew Noble v Hazel Green.

Parkrun this week in Folkestone Jean Paul Jeffrey was first FRC member through the finish funnel in a time of 19:17, followed by Stuart Sprinks 20:18, Deborah Jeffery was 1st Lady overall in 21:19, Simon Coffey 21:19, Caroline Curtis 21:55, Anthony Scott 21:56, Zoe Neale 22:14, Stuart Erskine 23:30, Vicky Scott 24:23, Richard Fowles 25:07, Richard Dyer 25:10, Neil Adams 25:10, Paul Bartlet 25:17, John O’Hara 25:24, Alan Vigrass 25:43, David Gillett 26:04, Trudi Curd 26:08, Carolyn Lewis 26:24, Kirsty Gardiner 26:33, Lynne Page 26:48, Tina Eke in a new PB time of 27:03, Linda Robson 27:32, Russell France 27:41, Graham Eke 28:30, Philip Maull, Penny Southern 28:43, Lucy Weekes 29:18, Paul James in a new PB time of 31:08 and Alfie Lancefield in a new PB time of 35:28, Kate Lancefield 35:34 and Nicola James 37:09.

In Ashford Laura Segust completed the parkrun in a time of 26:17, Stephen King ran at Lullingstone parkrun in a time of 29:02 and at Hasenheide parkrun Elizabeth Tew completed the 5k in a time of 28:35

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
