The Latest FRC News .....

It was the final race in the Bedgebury Pinetum 5k and 10 Race Series on Wednesday Night.  Anthony Scott took part in the 10k race after completing the Saxons, Vikings, Normans Very British Challenge the day before (26.4 miles in 5:54:46)  Scott still managed to complete the 10k course in a time of 52:48 – 2nd MV40   Jennifer Quinn competed in the 5k race and came 1st FV35 in a time of 27:02  Scott then went on to race in the Gloucester City Half Marathon this Sunday (results to be confirmed).

On Sunday 4 FRC members took part in the Aylesham & East Kent 10k  First home was John O’Hara 56:13,  followed by Anna Hegarty (1:05:49), Kelly Flannery (1:07:30), Hayley Klucsynski (1:07:30)

The last run in the first round of the FRC Park Run Challenge was held this Saturday up on the Leas.  All those that have gone through to the second round will be drawn to face their new challenger on Tuesday night by Tim Warren. 

This week at Folkestone parkrun Torben Jessen was first club member through the finish funnel in a personal best time of 18:52, followed by Simon Coffey (20:04), Andrew Noble (20:18), Grey Playfoot (20:45), Caroline Curtis was first lady overall in a time of 21:58, Barry Hogben (22:12), Catherine O’Connor, second lady overall, (22:38), Brian Davis (22:46), Deirdre Coombs in a new PB time of 23:59, Andrew Smith (24:47), Richard Dyer (24:55), Malcolm Gibbs (25:10), Kate Bullard in a PB time (25:36), Graham Eke (25:42), Julie Gibbs (26:58), Trudi Curd (28:03), Tina Eke with a new PB (29:12), Kate Lancefield (32:30), Elizabeth Smith (33:30), Abigail Smith (49:56), and Lisa Smith (50:33)

Park Run Tourism this week – Jean Paul Jeffery (18:53) and 2nd lady overall Deborah Jeffery (19:53) went to Brighton & Hove parkrun.  At Leamington parkrun Louise Fowler completed the 5k course in a time of 31:17.  Visiting Maidstone parkrun were 2nd man overall Andrew Fletcher in a PB time of 17:07 and Stephen King (27:20)   In Ashford, Victoria Park, Alan Vigrass (23:32) and finally visiting Wanstead Flats park run Jane Wren in a PB time of 24:05 and Alan Randall (25:44).

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
