Spring has sprung and the racing has begun!!

This week saw another Spring Marathon taking place ...  2 members of FRC took part in The Greater Manchester Marathon this Sunday – Stuart Erskine (knocking 32 minutes off his PB!) in 03:34:36 and Richard Fowles in 03:43:43

Vicky Scott represented FRC in the Chatham Maritime 10k and completed the race in a time of 50:16

Malcolm Gibbs ran the Paddock Wood Half Marathon in a time of 1:57

Anthony Scott took part in the Kent Spring Half Marathon.  A single lap scenic multi-terrain route using the quiet lanes surrounding Ashford.  He completed the course in a time of 1:45:03

Hayley Kluczynski and Russell France became Spartan warriors this weekend in the 5k Spartan Sprint in St Clere, Kemsing, near Sevenoaks.    France also took part in the 10k Super on the Saturday. It was “a weekend for warrior, trail hunters and obstacle racers on a beautiful but challenging course”.

Alan Vigrass celebrated his 100th parkrun this weekend at Folkestone, up on the Leas, with fellow FRC members.

David Gillett was first FRC member through the finish funnel in a time of 17:41 followed by Lloyd Worsley 18:29, Jean Paul Jeffery 19:28, James Stroud 19:39, Nick Steele 20:32, Deborah Jeffery was first lady overall in a time of 20:46, Caroline Curtis came third lady overall in 21:45, Christopher Woolgar 22:19, Paul Bartlett 22:53, Clive Allon 24:17, Andrew Richardson 24:34, Richard Pickering 25:18, Vicky Scott 25:59, Carolyn Lewis 26:13, Richard Dyer 26:49, Alan Vigrass 26:50, Kirsty Gardiner 29:13, Linda Robson 36:45, Julie Gibbs 50:20

At Dartford Stephen King completed the 5k course in a time of 31:26   Liam Cumber completed the Pegwell Bay Parkrun in 23:06 and Paul Taylor ran in the Whiteley Parkrun in a time of 27:01

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
