FRC are very proud of Tracy Wilkinson-Begg who won the Shepway Sportstrust Vet Sportsperson of the Year Award in the Awards ceremony held this Friday at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone.

Kate Lancefield and Lisa Smith ran in the Pretty Muddy Run, in aid of Cancer Research.  Lots of muddy fun and pink inflatable obstacles, finishing on a slide into a mud pool.  Great fun for a good cause.

Alan Randall and Jane Wren took part in the Ware Festival of Running this weekend.  Alan successfully completed the 10 mile race and Jane the 10k race along the River Lea and around Hertham Common in Hertfordshire, despite the 30 degree heat.

Alan Randall (51:12) and Jane Wren (55:01) also raced in the Rye Summer Classic Series Race 1 10k on Friday night.  The race starts at Rye Harbour Sailing Club and is an out and back route to Winchelsea Beach.  The sea breeze was very welcome!

 10 Members of FRC took part in the Hastings Parkrun this Saturday.  Lloyd Worsley came 2nd overall in 17:09 after having cycled the 20 plus miles to get there! Next FRC member to finish was Nick Steele in 18:16, David Weekes in a PB time for that course of 18:56, Paul Bartlett 19:24, Richard Fowles with a PB of 21:24, Zoe Neale also with a PB of 21:31, Caroline Curtis 21:49, Catherine O’Connor 22:24, Clive Allon 22:45 and Aldous Hosking in a PB time of 23:09

At Folkestone Parkrun this week David Gillett was first man overall through the finish funnel in time of 17:28, followed by Stuart Erskine 19:50, first lady overall Deborah Jeffery 20:38, Anthony Scott 23:00, Liam Cumber 23:19, Kirsty Wilson 23:26, Nikki Goodwin 24:31, John O’Hara 24:33, Richard Dyer 25:20, Carolyn Lewis 25:33, Vicky Scott 26:09, Gary Brazier 27:10, Kirsty Gardiner 27:17, Catherine-Anne Curtis 33:30, and Linda Robson 44:06

Alan Vigrass ran at Ashford parkrun in a time of 26:03 and Ian McGilloway was first man overall at Buncrana parkrun, Ireland, in a time of 17:58

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners with ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
