Lloyd Worsley takes Gold in the Kent County Champs .. And lots more ...

Lloyd Worsley won the, extremely popular, Givaudan Ashford 10k this Sunday in a fantastic time of 33:03   Lloyd came first overall and also won a gold Kent County Medal.  There were 16 FRC members who ran overall  - second member over the line was Darren Crew in a time of 39:55, Richard Fowles 43:08, Nikki Goodwin 43:22, Catherine O’Connor 46:12,  Vicky Scott 49:35,  Jennifer Quinn  50:04, Jane Wren 50:50, Lance Boseley 51:16, Kirsty Wilson 51:30, Alan Randall 52:27, Anna Hegarty 56:37, Carolyn Lewis 58:33, Claire Yates 58:41, Hayley Kluczynski 59:30, Russell France 01:02:26  The 10k route is regularly rated as the best 10k race in the South and follows a slightly undulating town centre route along closed roads with a start and finish in the magnificent Julie Rose Athletics Stadium in Ashford.  Lots of lovely support from all the FRC members and their families. 

Anthony Scott ran the very scenic Tissington Trail Half Marathon this Saturday  in 01:43:35 and came 48th out of 295 runners. 

Andrew Noble ran in the Chester Marathon on Sunday in a time of 3:05:29  199th overall in a field of 2644 runners.

On Sunday, Morgan West competed in the inter-regional duathlon match which involved Morgan being selected to represent the South East Region against London. He raced a 3.2km run, 16km bike and a 1.6km run in a total time of 46:29 to finish in 4th and help the South East team to a victory over London! 

 

At Folkestone parkrun this week Mark Ellerby was first FRC member over the line in a time of 19:44, followed by Stuart Erskine 21:00, Tom Cullen 21:54, Clive Allon 24:57, Richard Dyer 25:04, John O’Hara 25:24, Alan Vigrass 25:47, Malcolm Gibbs 26:23, Angela Saunders 27:04, Philip Maull 27:08, Margaret Whitham 30:21, Russell France 32:14, Kate Lancefield 33:02, Gary Brazier 33:54, Nicola James 37:46, Paul James 37:47, Deborah Jeffery 53:13

A lot further afield in Gdansk Stephen King completed the 5k parkrun in a time of 25:05

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years, or Year 8, upwards and ability ranging from elite to beginners in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group.
