Darent Valley 10k, Hythe Round the Houses and Park Runs ....

Lloyd Worsley blew his competitors away on Sunday and took 1st place overall in the Darent Valley  10k in a time of 00:34:25  This tough but pretty race takes place through the scenic villages of Farningham and Lullingstone.  Worsley’s team mate Andrew Noble also ran a good race and completed in a time of 00:40:28

Several members of Folkestone Running Club took part in the annual Hythe Round the Houses event in South Road, some marshalled the finish line and others ran in the  Roger McCrow Memorial 6k Race organised by the Hythe Rotary Club, which consisted of  4 laps that started at the Hythe Sports Pavilion and went out along the canal.  James Stroud won the race in a time of 21:04, followed by Mark Ellerby (23:10),  Tim Warren (23:24), Simon Coffey (25:52), Aldous Hosking,  (26:27),Alan Randall (30:07), Angela Saunders (31:59),  and Kayleigh Cumber (47:04)  This was Kayleigh’s debut race after only recently  joining the club.

This week in the Folkestone Parkrun the Folkestone RC ladies took 1st , 2nd and 3rd places.  Deborah Jeffery came first in a time of 20:32, Catherine O’Connor (22:05) and Caroline Curtis (22:14) Nick Steele was first Folkestone Runner home in a time of 17:59 followed by Simon Coffey (20:14), Jeffery, Chris Addison (20:45), Levi Atwell (20:47), O’Connor, Curtis, Richard Fowles (22:18), Andrew Richardson (22:22), Anthony Scott (22:32), Paul Taylor (23:49), Alan Randall (24:20), John O’Hara (24:56), Vicky Scott (24:59), Malcolm Gibbs (25:00), Stephen King (26:01), Richard Dyer (27:02), Julie Gibbs (27:15), Kellly Flannery (29:18), Hayley Kluczynski (34:09), a new PB for Alfie Lancefield (36:36), Kate Lancefield (36:42), Caron Inder (37:51), and tail runners Trudi Curd (41:54) and Jean Paul Jeffery (41:54)

About Us

Folkestone Running Club is a small friendly club for runners aged from 13 years (or Year 8), upwards and ability ranging from elite to those that run less competitively, in Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. We also have a partnership club Folkestone Running Club Juniors for the under 13 age group. 

*Please note we are unable to take on any new junior members (13+) until Spring 2018 as we have reached full capacity. 

All adults wishing to join should be capable of running a 5k and be willing/able to join in the workout sessions put on by the coaches.
