Kent Cross Country Championships

Well done to the thirteen club runners who took part in the Kent County Cross Country Championships yesterday and produced some fine performances in the tough competition which is the highlight of the Cross Country season in the County.Yet again the ladies team were successful in the 6 to score team competition finishing in 3rd place with Nikki and Lauren having fine individual runs finishing in 13th and 15th place respectively, in addition, the remaining team members Catherine, Kirsty,Tina and Angela all played their part in the club's success.The men also ran well despite not having a full team with Dave Weekes the first club runner to finish in 81^st place. Dave was followed by Dave Smyth 108^th, Will 140^th, Stephen 174^th and Grahame Eke, 177^th. Let's hope that next year we can field a full team.

Folkestone’s juniors Joel Lill and Laurel Bryce were the first to run on the day with great performances in their first taste of County Championship competition. Joel finished in 25^thplace in the Under 13 Boys race and Laurel in 27^th place in the Under 15 Girls Race.The full club results were:-

Under 13 Boys 3285 metres; Joel Lill 25^th12.51; Under 15 Girls 3740 metres; Laurel Bryce 27^th 18.10;Senior Mens 11970 metres; Dave Weekes 81^st45.43;Dave Smyth 108^th 48.21;Will Smith 140^th50.34;Stephen King, 174^th 56.40 and Grahame Eke 177^th 57.59.Senior Ladies 8050 metres; Nikki Goodwin 13^th31.45; Lauren Fawke 15^th 32.15; Catherine O’Connor 62^nd37.36; Kirsty Gardiner 73^rd 41.05; Tina Eke 74^th 41.18 and Angela Saunders 76^th 42.15 .Photos can now be found on my site.
